Storable Competitive Intelligence Watch

Industry news, announcements, reviews & forum chatter, split by product line · last check: - · next scheduled check: weekdays, ~9am ET

How this loop works

Purpose: surface real competitive movement - funding, launches, partnerships, acquisitions, notable review/sentiment shifts, and forum chatter about switching software - for competitors to SiteLink, Storable Edge, and Storable Easy, before it becomes competitive pressure.

  1. Sources: industry trade press (Inside Self Storage, Mini Storage Messenger, StorageNewsletter, SSA), general web/PR (funding, launch, M&A, partnership announcements), review sites (G2, Capterra, GetApp - new reviews, rating shifts, feature mentions), and community chatter (Self-Storage Talk forum, and social platforms where reachable). Each item shows its source domain directly.
  2. Check cadence: weekdays. Each run rotates through a subset of tracked competitors so the full watchlist gets covered over the week rather than everything at once.
  3. Layout: each product line tab shows what's new today at the top, a rolling 30-day "previous" view below that, and an archive of anything older than 30 days, collapsed by default.
  4. Acts when: a genuinely new item shows up - not the same forum thread or review page resurfacing. Items are deduped against a seen-URL list per product line.
  5. Flagging: an item is marked flagged when it's a funding round, acquisition, major product launch/relaunch, or a forum/review pattern suggesting real churn risk (e.g. a forced migration frustrating users) - not routine listicle or comparison-page noise.
  6. Expansion: new competitor names surfaced in any source get added to the relevant line's watchlist as pending automatically - the list keeps growing, it isn't fixed to what we started with.
  7. State: stored in state.json in a persistent working folder - watchlist, topics, seen-URL dedupe list, and the recent-items feed per line.
  8. Stop / bail-out: if searches fail 3 checks in a row, this page shows a red banner asking for a manual look instead of failing silently.
  9. Output: this page, refreshed in place each weekday morning, plus a dated snapshot saved to an archive folder for historical review.
